Service Unit 7 Celebrates World Thinking Day
Troops from across the area took time to learn the meaning behind the World Trefoil pin, study water stress in countries like South Africa and Jamaica, learn about the work of Wangari to slow deforestation- where they found out it happens all over the world, but in Brazil deforestation is taking 10,000 acres a year, looked at plastic and air pollution issues in countries like China and discussed ways that Leave No Trace principle and Waste Free Meals could be utilized in a positive way.
Girl Scouts enjoyed snacks at each area from those countries and participated in games, building a recycled balloon powered car and even conducted an experiment.
